Wet Plant
Installation
The shore-end portion of installation is where wet plant meets dry plant.
SubCom’s experience landing cables directly from the main lay vessel
(direct landing) or prior to the main lay (pre-laid shore end) is unmatched.
SubCom can provide the shore end solution to meet our customer’s
requirements, while executing the most efficient installation.
Cable burial is often the best method for protecting an installed cable from the
impacts of industrial fishing and/or vessel anchoring. Using a sea plow or ROV,
SubCom can bury the cable up to 3 meters below the ocean floor,
reducing the risk that a cable may be snagged by a fishing net or cut by a ship’s
anchor.
SubCom understands the inherent challenges of installing undersea
networks and is armed with the tools and knowledge for any solution. Whether it is a
long haul, trans-oceanic cable system or a non-amplified festoon link, we consistently
provide solutions to meet customer needs.
Testing
During the cable lay, the system will be powered (subject to safe working practices),
monitored and periodically tested and recorded. Optical and electronic tests will be
performed to ensure cable integrity is maintained during the installation
